  • Dr. Danielle Kavin

    Danielle Kavin is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Providers of BC (CHCPBC # 2777). Prior to this, she was a Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association for Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) for over 16 years and has over 25 years of experience working with children, youth, individuals, and families in community and mental health settings. She has a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from SFU and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from UBC.

    Danielle comes from a strength-based client-centered approach. She is passionate about helping people and she works to understand her clients from a holistic perspective using warmth and empathy. Although Danielle strives to be non-judgmental, at times she gently challenges her clients in an attempt to encourage them to look at their difficulties on a deeper level. From an assessment perspective, Danielle is passionate about helping clients better understand their challenges and provides them with recommendations for support and services.

  • Gurpal Bamara, MA, CCC

    Gurpal is an experienced Counsellor dedicated to providing youth and adults with a supportive and collaborative environment to create change. She carries over 20 years of counselling experience with a diverse background working in community mental health, hospital-based, and school-based settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Certified Clinical Counsellor and member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

    Gurpal provides individual, family, and couples therapy. She specializes in working with those who are experiencing a wide variety of mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, OCD, etc.), parent-child conflict resolution, relational issues, relationship and marriage enhancement, life transitions, complex family dynamic management, grief/loss, divorce, school-related difficulties, behavioral challenges, and trauma recovery.

    Gurpal is a bi-lingual Counsellor fluent in both English and Punjabi. She honors the importance of a therapeutic alliance and is committed to creating a safe environment where people can show up authentically as they explore their path toward transformation and healing.

    Zander is a proud husband and a father to 3 kids. When he is not working you will find him and his family playing, laughing, joking around and enjoying the outdoors. Zander completed his Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. He has a number of years of experience completing psychoeducational assessments and working with families to help them find the support and strategies they need to support their children. Zander values identifying strengths and interest areas in clients and helping to find ways to use them to compensate for areas that are challenging. As part of his passion for this area Zander is developing competency in counseling and intervention under the supervision of Dr. Kavin.

    Laura completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at the University of Victoria, her Bachelor of Education Degree at U.B.C., and her Educational Specialist Degree at Seattle University. She has over 14 years of experience conducting psycho-educational assessments and working with families to help them better support and understand their child’s learning. She is passionate about using a strength based approach for supporting students, and working collaboratively to help students feel successful.
    Laura is a proud wife and Mom to three active boys. When she is not at work, Laura can most often be found running and enjoying the outdoors with her family!

  • Lizzy Wylie M.Ed

    As an experienced school psychologist, Lizzy is passionate about helping families to better understand the diverse ways in which children interact with the world. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria, where she studied Music and Psychology. She also completed her Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology with the University of Calgary in 2019. Once an avid traveller, oboist, hiker, and rock climber, Lizzy has swapped out these hobbies in favour of hide-and-seek, playground hopping, and exploring Imagination-Land with her two little girls. She is awe-inspired by the preciousness of childhood and she is deeply motivated by the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

    Kiana Birkinshaw is a practicum student under the clinical supervision of Dr. Kavin. She is a second-year student at Adler University, pursuing a Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology. Kiana previously earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Honours from the University of the Fraser Valley. She has experience providing one-to-one support to children and collaborating with their families to promote learning and development. She is passionate about using evidence-based practices to identify individuals’ strengths and support growth in areas of challenge. Outside of her academic and practicum work, Kiana enjoys spending time outdoors, baking, and spending time with her dog.

  • Laurel Paracy

    Laurel Paracy is our virtual office administrator. She assists with all incoming emails and voicemails to help current and future clients with their questions and concerns. In her free time, Laurel plays in a local band and spends time with her family.

  • Sage

    Meet Sage, a lovable puppy in training to become an emotional support dog during therapy sessions. With her soft, warm fur and gentle demeanor, Sage is learning the important skills to provide comfort and companionship to those in need. As she grows, Sage will be by the side of therapists, offering a calming presence to help ease anxiety, reduce stress, and support emotional healing. Her journey is just beginning, but Sage is already proving to be a sweet and attentive companion—ready to bring joy and support to those who need it most.
